It was standing room only in the April Dickinson County Board of Adjustment meeting as a 174-site campground was proposed at the Woodlyn Hills Golf Course. One of the developers of the proposed campground, Brian Schmidt said this would fill a void in our community.
Neighbors voiced concern over public safety, noise, aesthetics, traffic and potential negative impact on the value of their properties. Concern also arose with regard to the use of a private sewer/septic system in such close proximity to our chain of lakes. Developers indicated they’d like to hook up to public sewer granted there is adequate availability and that it could handle the load generated by the campsite.
The Dickinson County Board of Adjustment voted to continue the hearing until Monday, June 6th at 7pm. This meeting is open to the public should you want to attend and have your voice heard.
