The Nature Center hosted the Monarch Butterfly Festival on Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It was a great event for families and children on the rainy day, as they could tag a butterfly to later track its flight south. Children could also create butterfly wings, puppets, and cloth paintings that involved colorful wildflowers and a hammer. A person could get a henna tattoo, particpate in GPS tracking, and see live animals like beetles, snakes, turtles, etc. It was a fun activity on a rainy Saturday!
