Amy’s Sign Design opened in January, 1993. Amy Pas graduated in Graphic Design from the University of Iowa. She chose to start her own business instead of apply for a job as a graphic designer.
Amy started the company by word of mouth asking people if she could make signs for them. At first the signs were hand painted on wood. A computer and vinyl cutter were added later to give the customer a better product. A CAD router, sign printer and laminator were added to keep up with customer needs.
The business is located in the old Arnolds Park City Hall. Amy purchased the property in 1996. The building was built in 1932 as a library, police department and city hall. An addition of a fire department was added on in the 1950’s which is where Amy‘s Sign Design is currently located.
The focus of Amy’s business is to produce custom signs and vinyl lettering. Every customer and every budget is different, so they cater to fitting the right type of sign to the right customer.
