Artist Austin Deuel was on hand for opening of his exhibit Thursday, July 12 at the Pearson Lakes Art Center.
The Scottsdale, Ariz. artist is a sculptor, painter and muralist. He a member of the American Indian and Cowboy Artists Association. During the Vietnam era, he was a Marine combat artist (the first), completing two tours. This experience led to a most important twice live size sculpture, The Vietnam War Memorial, located in San Antonio, Texas.
The exhibit is sponsored by the Goodenow Foundation. It is on display in the Monte Pearson Gallery and runs through Sept. 22.
